About: Our wakame is some of the rare remaining wildcrafted wakame and comes from the breathtaking Sanriku coast. Literally meaning “young cloth,” wakame is traditionally believed to strengthen digestion and is irreplaceable for beautifying the skin and hair.

Like all sea vegetables, wakame has a spectrum of vitamins and minerals that is beyond anything we can find in land vegetables. These vitamins and minerals are chelated, making them easy for the body to absorb. 

Because of its broad mineral spectrum, wakame is excellent for the nervous system and contributes to overall physical and mental wellbeing while reducing stress levels.

Due to its high amounts of alginic acid, wakame is useful in cleansing heavy metals such as lead, barium, and mercury from the body.
