About: When it comes to the healing power of Japan’s teas, this antioxidant-packed gorgeous green powder is superior to all others. Matcha is made from the ground whole leaf of the camellia sinensis plant. Since matcha is a fine powder that dissolves in water as opposed to having to steep, matcha allows us to enjoy a full spectrum of benefits in an ultra-concentrated form.

Many of the health benefits found in green tea are derived from a group of antioxidants called polyphenols, the most notable being epigallocatechin gallate, or EGCG. These antioxidants have been found to fight against numerous diseases. They reduce the formation of free radicals and fight against cell damage. This plays a huge role in maintaining the integrity of both the body and the skin as they age. Camellia sinensis also contains naturally occurring antibacterial and antiviral properties.

According to macrobiotic principles, camellia sinensis dissolves and releases animal fats from the body. From a bathing perspective, we view this as a cleansing action that is further enhanced by hot water while soaking in the bath.

We use only Japanese ceremonial-grade matcha grown by small-scale farmers in our products. Though some may think this is unnecessary, we know that ceremonial-grade tea is grown, harvested, and processed with extra love and attention.
